Seema Dixit, DO
Dr. Seema Dixit, DO, originally born in NJ, began her education at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ. She received a Bachelor of Science degree with high honors in Chemistry and Biology and a minor in social sciences. She was on the Deans List every semester. She then completed her medical degree at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. Her internship was completed at Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. She completed her neurology residency at State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical Center and was selected as chief resident in her final year. She subsequently completed her clinical neurophysiology fellowship also at SUNY Downstate Medical Center with an emphasis on seizures and epilepsy.
During her neurology career, she has acquired invaluable experience in several neurological disorders including, but not limited to: head trauma, intracerebral hemorrhage, stroke, spinal cord disorders, multiple sclerosis, dementia, epilepsy, neuromuscular disease, movement disorders, headaches and migraines, as well as clinical neurophysiology including EMG/EEG and long term video EEG monitoring.
Among her teaching experience, Dr. Dixit has taught the neurology lecture series for the PA Students at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. She has also done research at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark, NJ as well as the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
Her medical specialties include: neurology, clinical neurophysiology, and seizures/epilepsy.
She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, American Osteopathic Association, and the American Medical Association.
